Youth Ministry
Providence Presbytery’s youth ministry is planned and implemented by the Youth Council. Rev. Megan Watson, Unity; Rev. Kyle Goodman, Bethesda (K), and Ann White, Union First are the adult advisors. The goals for 2006 are:
- Develop a youth ministry network with contacts for each congregation in Presbytery. Information about special events, trips, resources, etc. will be shared and partnerships brokered. An e-communication piece will be developed for the network.
- Periodic gatherings for youth workers (advisors, ministers, DCE's, etc.) will be developed for networking, fellowship and sharing ideas over a meal.
- A gathering of the youth from Providence Presbytery attending a Montreat Youth Conference will be held each week there are groups from Providence congregations attending.
- Youth members for the fall youth rally planning team will be recruited for youth attending a Montreat Youth Conference.
Every three years the YOUTH TRIENNIUM is held at Purdue University. Providence Presbytery sends a delegation to this. The next triennium will be July 17 – 22, 2007. Visit the Youth Triennium website for more information. |
